 MISSION STATEMENT From President/CEO

A wheelchair user sometimes myself, I was waiting at the airport, when I spotted a group of young people using wheelchairs. I am a people watcher. And, like it always happens, while watching the men and women's attire and hearing their conversations, I felt like I knew them.... a back pack with military stickers, a jeweled cell phone, a short, short skirt, all cues to their demeanor and preferences in style. Later, I spotted them rolling away from me down the concourse, and suddenly I couldn't identify even one of them. Immediately, I thought, "I sure wish I could tell more about them now." That thought stayed with me. Why shouldn't the wheelchair they use reflect their identity, their favorite sport or hobby, or showcase their sense of style.

After careful research, many sketches and consultations with my two daughters, Travara and Latrayan, our dream for "Covers for the Backs of Wheelchairs," blossomed. Later, my long-time friend and CPA, Ira Shucker and his wife Charlene got on board. Then, one of my dearest, long-time friends, Dorothy Oliver, who has incredible fashion sense, joined us. But it was only after my daughters and I met Couturier Graci Hardy Davis, that the dream came alive for us. My daughters and I cried the first time we saw the prototypes for "Wheely Nice Covers."

After talking to my mother about her wheelchair, I realized why she didn't want to roll into church in her chair: my mother, always loved being coordinated from head to toe. I immediately decided, why not offer coordinated "Couture" clothing to go along with our Wheely Nice Covers and thus, The House of Edin was born.

Hopefully you will love Wheely Nice Covers and The House of Edin too.
